Gravesham Borough Council made electrical recycling more convenient by installing 18 bring banks in high-footfall areas and placing 20 additional containers in independent living schemes, ensuring all residents had access within a mile of their homes.
In one year, over 27,400 electrical items were recycled, diverting nearly 25 tonnes of waste from landfill. Community engagement exceeded expectations, with strong local support showing how convenient collection points can drive real increases in recycling participation.
The bring banks will remain in place and continue to serve the community. Gravesham will continue using Recycle Your Electricals assets to promote bring banks and drive awareness of electrical recycling
