Repair and reuse

The Remade Network set up ‘Tech Drop’ points across Glasgow, giving residents easy places to donate unwanted electricals for repair, reuse or recycling. Pop-up repair services and drop points in libraries and community centres helped people keep tech in use.

During the COP26 climate summit, an eye-catching ‘Tech Drop Tonne’ campaign collected 1.6 tonnes in two weeks. Overall, more than 16 tonnes were collected and 2,350 refurbished laptops and computers donated to local groups and charities.

The Remade Network in Glasgow is no longer running owing to disruptions during the COVID-19 pandemic.
