Ashford Borough Council partnered with local parish councils to make it easier for rural residents to recycle their electricals. They piloted six pop-up collection events with repair cafés.
In nine months, they collected over 3 tonnes of electricals, repaired 60 items and received 241 items electrical donations for rehoming.
The council cannot continue the events in their current format due to time and resource constraints, however they are continuing to use the Recycle Your Electricals branded assets to encourage local residents to keep up their new recycling habits.
