Lewisham Borough Council installed 27 new on‑street bring banks to make electrical recycling more accessible and replace outdated units. Residents welcomed the convenience, resulting in 42.3 tonnes of electricals recycled, an 800 percent increase from previous collections.
The pilot improved usability, visibility, and community engagement. Bring banks will remain in place long‑term, with continued promotion to encourage recycling and reduce e‑waste.
