Reuse

Veolia Southwark made it easy for residents to donate unwanted electricals by setting up collection points in 12 libraries and at the local recycling centre.

With Community TechAid, they repaired and passed on laptops, phones, and tablets to people who needed them. Other items were sent for recycling.

The pilot collected 1,133 devices, with 50 refurbished and reused, showing how local partnerships can turn unwanted tech into tools for learning and connection.

This is now a regular service. Drop-off points at libraries, and collections by Veolia staff, will continue. The relationship with Tech Aid means donations will also continue.
