Wandsworth Council installed 20 on-street bring banks, 11 library drop-off points, and added small-item cages to 33 waste trucks for kerbside collections. This meant residents could recycle electricals close to home or alongside their regular waste. Bin stickers, vehicle signs, and social media promoted the scheme. The scheme collected over 32 tonnes of small electricals, increasing monthly recycling by more than 10%.
All three elements of this pilot will go on for the foreseeable future. The council bought the bring banks outright and plans to keep them in place and the kerbside service will continue.
