We make it simpler for each and every one of us in the UK to recycle our old and unwanted electricals or to send them to be refurbished and reused.
We do this by working with local authorities, community organisations, producers, retailers, high-profile individuals and experts, and the public.
We work with industry partners to identify gaps in knowledge and barriers to reusing and recycling electricals. We commission research to help bridge these gaps and overcome these barriers. Our research insights help improve reuse and recycling methods and galvanise innovative approaches to extracting the precious materials from unwanted electricals.
We identify and fund projects which help make it easier for people to reuse and recycle electricals. We work with partners to expand the number and type of collection options. We do this by providing funding for local authorities and community sector organisations – making it easier for everyone to recycle their old electricals.
We inspire people to change their behaviour through our Recycle Your Electricals campaign. The campaign reveals the hidden value of the materials in electricals, and makes it feel easy and normal to reuse and recycle electricals.
