Hart District Council piloted a kerbside collection service, making recycling simpler by allowing residents to place small electricals directly on top of their bins. Rolled out in four phases, the service quickly proved popular and easy to use.
In the first year, 28.31 tonnes of electricals were recycled, an 89% increase compared with previous levels. The service will continue at full capacity, building on strong community engagement and positive feedback.
