Medway Council piloted electrical recycling bring banks in 15 council libraries, making it easy for residents to recycle unwanted items.
In 12 months, over 10 tonnes of electricals were collected, with more than 19,000 items recycled or reused, including 600 donated to a local charity.
All 15 existing bins remain in use across Medway. Medway are now exploring alternative collection methods to better meet the needs of these high-traffic sites. Final decisions are still pending.
