Redcar and Cleveland Borough Council launched a pilot reuse scheme collecting small, working electricals at a central site and community locations to make donating easier. Residents donated 591 items weighing 2.109 tonnes, with 443 passing PAT testing and 270 redistributed, reducing waste and supporting those in financial need.
The service will continue with support from two new community groups, with the recycling team taking over as the main point of contact.
